I wanted to go ahead and sum up everything that I posted on my site for the year of 2019. Although it wasn’t the amount of blog posts that I projected it to be, I believe the little that I did post were of great worth to someone somewhere out there. This 2019 End of Year Sum Up will definitely sprout out to me the things I did, the things I wanted to do, and the things I should have done differently.
It is always good to evaluate your plans and everything you have accomplished. Tally up the pros and cons of your year and focus on being better at your goals for the upcoming years.
the timeline
January I briefly spoke about How I Cleared My Acne and of the trials and errors I went through. Having adult acne was one of the toughest things I had to endure. As the new year rolled in, I thought it was best to Ditch Your New Year’s Resolution and focus your scopes on just being the very best you. Sometimes it is disheartening when you are not able to follow through with the goals you set out for yourself in the beginning of the year. Instead of beating yourself up about it, move in the direction of reality and accomplishing things you absolutely KNOW you can fulfill.
February we discussed a little more about life by determining ways of Overcoming Failure and identifying the alternate avenues we can direct our attention to. My quest for uplifting my community allowed me to do a lot of research and find 200 Black Owned Businesses in which I currently use. My relationship with my people is of the upmost respect and I believe in recycling my money back into the businesses of my people. These businesses don’t always get the shine that they deserve, so by simply showcasing them here on my site, I feel I have given them that shine. As the tax season slowly approached, I wanted to expand everyone’s knowledge in investing by advising my readers to Don’t Spend Your Tax Return…Invest It! instead. I am an avid encourager and I believe everyone should have a way to invest their money.
March was an interesting month for me as I discussed the issues of Going Back to School as a Busy Parent. With this, I touched on some areas that I felt would definitely keep me on track with my coursework and life outside of school. Within this time, I thought I could also conduct a community based donation site and listed Why I started a GoFundMe Account. Sadly, it didn’t gain any traffic but the mission is still on my vision board to complete within 5 years.
June definitely spiked up an interest in increasing my revenue as I discussed What’s Your Side Hustle? This post helped those who were a little stuck on which side hustle they should choose and discussed the pros and cons of them.
August we set our sights on being truly happy by following 4 Steps to Finding Your Smile. It may be a struggle everyday, but stepping back and looking at the things you actually have versus the things you do not is definitely one way of keeping you jolly.
November was my birthday month and I wanted to talk about a Give-away for Your Birthday! This post was all about doing something special for someone else on your birthday. It was so rewarding to do these things on my birthday and I plan to do them and more each and every year.
December was all about trying Something New and stepping outside of your comfort zones. It was a late Thanksgivings Day post that I published in December, but the effect of the action was worth while.
looking back
Looking back, I feel that I have grown through each blog post. With each year, I definitely have expressed more of my feelings and shared my knowledge on things I find interesting.
A couple of things I feel that I could have done differntly were:
- Posting more. I wanted to post at least once a week but didn’t even up doing so
- Be more in depth with my post. I feel that some of my blog posts could have been longer and deeper in thought
All in all, 2019 was a successfully year for me and my blog. I am so grateful to have gone through some many things throughout 2019 that have opened my eyes. I am excited to see what the year 2020 has to offer and can’t wait to share it with my readers as it happens. What were your best moments in 2019?
